Learn more about your family history!
I offer individual research, tailored to your requirements, such as researching a line of your family tree, exploring the life and times of a great-great-grandparent or conducting a search in the Archives. Research is conducted on an hourly rate, with total hours agreed before commencing. The initial discussion and review of any documents you may have is complementary.
Research reports and ancestor biographies include:
- The report detailing my findings, placed within its historical context if requested, with cited source documents;
- Information regarding the archival and database searches used and their results, including details of searches which failed to produce results;
- Copies of all relevant documents identified, such as birth registrations and newspaper reports.
I specialise is interpreting Tasmanian convict records and colonial era records, to bring an individual’s story to life. Similarly, I can transcribe WW1 military records and recreate the story of your ancestor’s war experience.
Tasmanian Archive Records
Should you require a document from the Tasmanian Archives, I can take a copy of the documents for your records. (Archives copying permission is dependent on the specific document being sought).
I provide consultation services for family historians who have hit a brick wall and need specialist assistance to break through.
Either as a stand-alone request or as part of a broader research project, I can take photographs of graves within southern Tasmania, and places and buildings of particular interest to your family story.
All research, consultation, photography and report writing are based on an hourly rate.
